2016 me had no idea: The year that changed everything
Dear 2016 me:
You are going to embark on the biggest life-changing journey of your life.
I know you are so ready for a change, for adventure, to experience new things. You are SO BRAVE. You are doing this all by yourself.
I just want you to know that it is going to be tough at first, because everything is so different and new here. I know you’ll feel sad and out of place, but just remember that THIS is exactly what you need to propel you forward, the ability to place yourself in the unknown and appear on the other side even stronger.
You’ll meet new people, new cultures, and visit places you never even imagined in your wildest dreams, and all of this will change the way you see the world.
You’ll learn things you’ll take with you for the next 10 years, so pay attention, learn the lessons, but above all, have fun.
I wish I could give the biggest hug and hold you to tell you that everything is going to be ok. I am so sorry you’ll have to go through a really tough time, to learn the true meaning of letting go, the true meaning of resilience, and the true meaning of change.
My beautiful girl, full of hopes and dreams, you’ll fall in love, you’ll open your heart to someone… and then you’ll learn what it's like to lose it all, everything you thought was true and yours. You’ll lose yourself for a little bit, but remember the lessons; you are so strong.
It’ll break your heart, and life will test you like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, but you, my hero, you are adamant on coming back to yourself, and to come back even stronger.
In this recovery journey, you’ll find kinesiology, and it’ll be one of the biggest blessings you’ve encountered so far. This therapy will be THE thing moving you out of all the pain.
You’ll fall in love again, and this time with yourself; this will be the catalyst.
You’ll start studying kinesiology not because it’s “a new thing to try”, but because you’ll feel it in your bones: this is the work that saved you. And you won’t be able to keep that to yourself.
Understanding it is your mission; the nervous system, the patterns, the subconcious loops, the way the body holds what the mind can’t say out loud. Don’t worry about becoming obsessed with it; immerse yourself.
Because you’ll finally realise something huge: you weren’t “too sensitive”. You were carrying too much for too long without the tools to release it.
And once you finally learn how to release… you’ll want every woman who feels stuck, ashamed, anxious, lost, or broken to know there is a way back to herself.
Pain will become a pathway.
What almost ended you will be your mission.
You’ll become the person you needed back then. Because nothing was wasted. Not the heartbreak. Not the rock bottom. Not the starting over.
It is all part of the plan.
So much love,
Cristina x
